Hi, I’m Hamilton.
A Licensed Mental Health Counselor and lifelong New Yorker, specializing in anxiety, depression, and trauma-informed care. I help adults and couples feel more grounded, understood, and able to move forward — in English or Spanish.

Raised in the Bronx, shaped by my community
I was raised in Morris Heights in the Bronx, where I saw both the challenges and the resilience of my community.
Growing up in an immigrant family, I learned early how much strength it takes simply to keep going — and how much difference it makes when someone meets you with empathy instead of judgment. That experience shaped my commitment to supporting others with intention and cultural awareness, and it’s still the heart of how I practice today.
I understand how disruptions to basic needs — housing instability, financial hardship, access to education and healthcare — can deeply affect mental wellness. Drawing on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, I never treat your struggles as separate from the realities of your life.

Years of walking alongside people
My background includes years of experience in social services, working directly with youth, families, and adults across the Bronx and Harlem. I’ve helped clients navigate complex barriers — trauma, stress, identity-related challenges, and essential needs like housing, finances, education, and healthcare.
I also bring experience from the higher-education space, supporting college students through academic pressure, life transitions, and mental health struggles. I understand how hard it can be to balance personal growth with simply surviving — and I strive to meet each client where they are, with respect and practical support.
In my private practice, I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity exploration, and relationship issues. Many people come to therapy wanting to feel more grounded, improve their relationships, move through a transition, or finally understand themselves more fully.
Collaborative, personalized, and culturally humble
My approach is collaborative and tailored to you. I draw from several evidence-based traditions and weave in psychoeducation, so you leave sessions feeling more informed and empowered.
Cognitive Behavioral
Practical tools to shift unhelpful thought and behavior patterns.
Psychodynamic
Understanding how your history shapes the present.
Human-centered
A warm, non-judgmental space that honors your autonomy.
Psychoeducation
Clear explanations so healing feels less like a mystery.
“I strive to meet each client where they are — with respect, cultural understanding, and practical support.”
